Macau Kitchen - Macanese & Malacca Portuguese
Four centuries of Portuguese technique in a southern Chinese kitchen, on St Leonard's Street.1
Why go
No independent source has written about this restaurant. The only description in circulation is the copy the business supplies to a directory, which calls it Progressive Macanese Cuisine
run by chef patron Kei and Hoeyyn
front of house.1 That page also calls the restaurant multi-award winning without naming a body, a category or a year, and no Scottish award roster has a row for this venue. What is left is the cuisine. Macanese cooking is Portuguese method run through southern Chinese ingredients, and there is very little of it anywhere in Britain.

Verdict
listed — Macanese cooking on St Leonard's Street, with the Malacca Portuguese strand named in the restaurant's own description of itself, run by a chef patron called Kei with Hoeyyn front of house. Macau's kitchen is one of the oldest fusion cuisines there is, Portuguese technique worked through southern Chinese ingredients over four centuries, and there is almost none of it in Britain. That is a genuine reason to be interested. It stays at listed because not one independent source has written a word about whether this kitchen does it well.
