Where I'd actually send you first: the rooms I'd put a visitor in on night one, in town rather than an hour down the highway, spread so six cards are six different answers. Producers, markets and the rest of the city are below.

Somewhere tonight.

One tap hides everything shut today and everything that needs a booking, then sorts the rest by how close it is to you. I don’t publish opening hours, because they go stale faster than anyone can check them. Check the door before you go.

Around Houston

4 open outside Houston

Houston2 open

The city inside the Loop, where the smokehouses, the Montrose bars and the Heights kitchens sit close enough to hit two in an evening. Bellaire is its own city on paper and Houston wraps all the way around it.

Around the Beltway2 open

Spring, Humble and Pearland stand twenty to thirty miles out on three different freeways. People drive to all three for the brisket and the beer and call it a normal Saturday.

Every room out here is on the Houston list and in the map.
