Five generations of one family cured Ayrshire bacon at Carluke from 1857, working a wet cure and a smokehouse that burned sawdust from light woods rather than oak. Andrew and John Ramsay both resigned from the company on 30 May 2025, the registered office moved to Dumfriesshire, and the firm's own website now redirects somewhere else, so where the bacon is cured today is not published anywhere we can read.
