Bethnal Green Tavern
The Graceland group reopened this 1992 Charrington corner house in March 2020 and pours its own Saint Monday beers alongside a wall of guest kegs, every line available in a third.
Why go
The beer program is the reason: about three handpumps, mid-teens keg lines from Kernel, Camden, Northern Monk and Omnipollo, and roughly forty bottles and cans behind it. Serving thirds across the whole range turns a big tap list into something you can actually work through. The same operator runs Kings Arms E2, Red Hand and The Axe, so the buying is done by people who do this for a living. The London Beer Guide rates the beer "high standard" at pricing that is "very fair," which is the combination that keeps a pub full on a Tuesday. The kitchen cooks British classics until 10pm on weekdays and Sunday roasts until 8pm.
Order this / avoid
- Order: a Saint Monday, the house label, then a third of whatever Kernel is on.2
- Avoid: expecting cask depth. Three lines at most, against a keg wall five times the size.
What locals & experts say

bright and airy open plan,
with beer of ahigh standard
and pricing that isvery fair.
2 - CAMRA (updated Jan 2026):
Former Charrington pub 1992. Refurbished and reopened by Grace Land pubs in March 2020. Up to 3 cask ales and 13 keg lines from Camden, Kernel, Northern monk and Omnipollo.

Good to know
- Timing: open from noon daily, past midnight Thursday to Saturday. Kitchen closes at 10pm, 8pm on Sunday.
- Booking: walk-in, with group reservations taken for weekend afternoons.
- Getting there: 456 Bethnal Green Road, about 200 metres from Bethnal Green station; one shallow step at the door and no accessible toilet.
Craft signals (beer: rotation on both dispense types)
Two signals. CAMRA's January 2026 record is two changing cask beers and zero regular beers, with Five Points and Howling Hops named among the rotating sources, and the branch description sets the pub at up to three cask ales and thirteen keg lines drawn from Camden, Kernel, Northern Monk and Omnipollo. The London beer-guide coverage cited above logs the same buying pattern, guest kegs alongside forty bottles. No regular beer on cask is the structural tell.

Verdict
could-visit — A corner boozer rebuilt in 2020 into a serious beer room: three casks, mid-teens keg lines from Kernel, Camden, Northern Monk and Omnipollo, forty bottles and cans, everything available in a third so you can taste across the wall. The house Saint Monday beers give it something of its own, and the kitchen runs to 10pm, so it works as an evening rather than a stop.
