Fishers
Twin brothers actually surnamed Fisher opened this Fulham High Street chippy in 1982, sold it on, and later came back to run it again a few minutes from Putney Bridge.
Why go
Harden's keeps it on the books as a "perennial favourite" with a judgment worth having: "The fish is consistently very good (whether battered, grilled or steamed)." The grilled and steamed options signal fish fresh enough to survive without batter, which is the real test of a chippy. The shop runs takeaway-first with roughly half a dozen tables inside.
Order this / avoid
- Order: battered cod and chips to take to the river, or grilled fish if you want the freshness test on the plate.
- Avoid: planning a sit-down group meal; seating is minimal.

- Note: Classic chippy
Verdict
listed — A reliable neighborhood chippy with a real name-origin story and a consistent-quality record in Harden's. Nothing here argues for a detour, and that is fine; it is the fish-and-chips answer if you are already in Fulham or walking the river.
