Jamie Goode holds a PhD in plant biology and was a science editor before wine. He founded wineanorak.com in 2000, wrote The Science of Wine (University of California Press, 2005, revised 2014) and Wine Science, and was wine columnist for The Sunday Express from 2005. He won the Glenfiddich Award for wine book of the year in 2006 and wine writer of the year in 2007, and was a finalist for the Louis Roederer International Wine Writer award in 2005.
