Tap East
A 2.5-barrel brewhouse behind the bar of a shopping centre, brewing since 2011 and in plain sight while you drink.2
Why go
It sits opposite the Stratford International entrance inside Westfield, run by Utobeer, the Borough Market beer merchant, which is why the keg and bottle range is wider than the postcode suggests.1 You get sofas and high tables, the brewery through the glass, three changing beers on the bar and sport on the television. There is no kitchen at all, which matters less here than anywhere else in London, since the rest of Westfield is through the door.
West Ham's ground is close enough that a home game fills the room. CAMRA's surveyor notes that a match day is usually the only time a guest cask goes on, so the busiest hours are also the best beer.
Order this / avoid
- Order: the house cask, then whatever guest is on if you have timed it for a match. Budvar is the one CAMRA picks out of the keg wall.1
- Avoid: bringing cash or a dog. Card only, children yes, dogs no.
What locals & experts say
- CAMRA, East London & City branch, surveyed 3 February 2026:
Opposite the Stratford International station entrance, this brewpub is furnished with sofas, high tables and chairs, with the brewery visible from the bar. Having West Ham's stadium nearby, it gets busy on match days, usually the only time for guest cask ales.

Verdict
could-visit — A working 2.5-barrel brewhouse behind the bar of a shopping centre, brewing since 2011 and visible from where you drink, which is not a sentence you get to write about many Westfield tenants. Utobeer, the Borough Market beer merchant, runs it, and that shows in a keg and bottle range wide enough for CAMRA to bother naming Budvar out of it. Time it for a West Ham home game if you want a guest cask, because CAMRA's surveyor says that is usually the only time they are on, and accept that the room will be full. There is no food, they take card only, and dogs stay outside. It stops mid-ladder because nothing published describes how the house beer actually drinks.
