The Five Points Taproom & Courtyard
Two casks from a brewery you otherwise only meet in cans, poured in the warehouse where Five Points brews them.1
Why go
The taproom sits inside the Mare Street brewery warehouse, with seating downstairs, a mezzanine above and a yard outside under three six-metre shelters.1 Up to two Five Points casks go on alongside a wide keg range with guests. Brewery tours are pre-bookable and start here. The room exists because drinkers paid for it: a 2021 crowdfunder funded the taproom's addition to the site.2
Order this / avoid
- Order: the cask. Two lines is the whole cask offer and it is the part of the range that does not travel.
- Avoid: Monday to Wednesday, when the taproom is closed.1

Verdict
could-visit — Two Five Points casks poured at the warehouse where the beer is made, which is the only place that half of the range exists, plus a keg wall with guests on it and a courtyard with shelters over it. Drinkers crowdfunded the taproom into being in 2021, which says more about how the brewery is regarded in Hackney than any tap count. Tours of the brewhouse are pre-bookable from the same room. The catch is the calendar: it is shut Monday to Wednesday, and no full set of hours is published anywhere reachable. It stays mid-ladder because the sources describe the room and never the beer.
