The Hoxton, Shoreditch
Erik Ramirez took his Brooklyn Peruvian restaurant, a Bib Gourmand holder that made him a James Beard Outstanding Chef finalist, and put a copy on the seventh floor of this hotel, with its own street door so you skip the lobby.
Why go
Llama Inn runs the roof, Ramirez and Juan Correa's kitchen filtered through a New York register: ceviche, anticuchos off the grill, pisco at the bar (The Hoxton). The tiger's milk here is built with yuzu kosho, which pushes the cure toward citrus heat instead of the straight lime-and-aji you get in most London ceviche, and it is the reason both Hot Dinners and The Infatuation land on the same dish. Downstairs changed hands in September 2025, when Il Bambini Club opened its first UK site on the ground floor, run by RIKAS with Paris Society, doing all-day pasta and pizza (The Caterer). The hotel itself dates to 2006 and was refurbished in 2025.
Order this / avoid
- Order: the scallop ceviche with dragonfruit, yuzu kosho tiger's milk and nori crisps, which The Infatuation calls
the best thing on the menu,
plus the chicken anticuchos (The Infatuation). Hot Dinners on the same plate at £20:this may have been one of the best ceviches we've ever had.
2 - Avoid: the large plates.
The bigger the plates are at Llama Inn, the more forgettable things get,
with the lomo saltado markeda little sloppy.

What locals & experts say
- The Infatuation (7.5/10, Jake Missing, May 2024):
When things are good here, like with the chicken anticuchos or the scallop ceviche, they are very good. But that can't be said for everything.
1 - City AM (Adam Bloodworth, Oct 2023): the room
feels cosier than most cool new restaurants: it's more like an elaborate penthouse.

Jeff's take (his words)
- Note: "Llama inn Peruvian restaurant is here now as well" REAL.
Verdict
could-visit — A good roof with a real cook behind the concept. Erik Ramirez's Brooklyn Llama Inn earned a Bib Gourmand and a James Beard Outstanding Chef nomination, and the ceviche in London is the dish two separate reviewers single out. The Infatuation's 7.5/10 and its line about the large plates keep this off a higher rung: order small, drink pisco, take the view. The addition of Il Bambini Club downstairs in 2025 makes the building useful without making it a destination.
