Aitor Jeronimo Orive is the most decorated chef to arrive in Melbourne from outside it. He led the kitchen at Iggy's in Singapore when it took its first MICHELIN star in 2017 and held it in 2018, then opened Basque Kitchen by Aitor, which held a star from 2018 to 2022 apart from 2020, when Singapore awarded none. He moved back to Melbourne in 2024 and runs the Basque Txoko pop-up at Nobody's Baby in South Yarra.
