Tomukun Noodle Bar
Tomukun runs ramen, pho, udon, stir-fry and pork buns out of a second-floor room on E. Liberty, with sake and soju behind the bar.2
Why go
The owners describe what they set out to cook: Asian comfort food we loved as kids and still love today. We've combined all the familiar foods of our childhood and brought them here to you.
1 They call it Ann Arbor's first local noodle shop, which is their claim and no outside source backs it.1 Nobody outside the business has written the noodles up either, so there is no dish named here.
Order this / avoid
- Avoid: this door if Korean barbecue is what you want. The grills run as a separate business, Tomukun BBQ, with its own reservations.2
Good to know
Jeff's take (his words)
- Note: "Top korean noodle bar with Ramen and other pan-asian noodles." His ranking is the only judgment on this page, because nobody has published another.
Verdict
could-visit — The kitchen states its own aim clearly, the food it grew up on, run across ramen, pho, udon, stir-fry and pork buns in one room with sake and soju behind the bar. Nothing outside the business has been written about it, so there is no outside judgment on a single bowl. Jeff rates it the best Korean noodle bar in the city and his line is the strongest thing anyone has said about it, which is thin. One review in the Ann Arbor Observer would settle it either way.
