Raventos Codorniu came from Barcelona to Los Carneros in 1991 and opened Artesa in 1997, on over 150 acres of hills that look down at San Pablo Bay.2 The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay come off those hills.1 The Spanish half is still working: El Jardin Espanol is a tasting built around Iberian varietals, and the kitchen sends tapas with the wine.1 A $30 deposit holds most seats.1 The top of the list is Chef Sean Massey's tasting, $325 a head plus 20%.1

Verdict
could-visit — A Catalan cava family planted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on a Carneros hilltop in 1991 and opened this winery in 1997, and the Spanish half is still on the list: El Jardin Espanol pours Iberian varietals almost nobody else in the valley farms. That is a real reason to come, and $30 holds a seat. Nothing bylined about the wine in the glass was read this pass, and the house tells its own history two different ways on two of its own pages, so the rung rests on what you can book rather than on what the wine does.
