Do or Dive Bar
The cocktails come in chalices, they are large, and there is a big backyard on Bedford Avenue to carry one into.
Why go
Bryan Kim carries it in The Infatuation's dive bar directory with the caveat attached: the room was built to look like it has been here for decades, and it has not (The Infatuation). Inside are vintage beer signs, antique lamps and vinyl bar stools he reckons came out of a strip club or a bowling alley, and the drinks are cheap, which makes the cocktails the surprise (The Infatuation, March 2017).
Order this / avoid
- Order: a cocktail, in the chalice, and take it out back.
- Order: the boozy frozen coffee drink, which arrives in a paper cup.
- Avoid: coming for a quiet one. Kim's warning is young-ish crowds and general shenanigans.
What locals & experts say
- Bryan Kim, The Infatuation, in the NYC dive bar directory:
It also happens to be a place where you can order a cocktail—they're quite large, and served in chalices—and then drink it in their huge backyard.

Good to know
- Timing: evenings and late, and the yard makes it a warm-weather stop.
- Booking: walk in.
Verdict
could-visit — Order the cocktail; in a room this cheap it is the part somebody thought about. Go when it is warm.
