Little Ned

Little Ned has its own entrance on 28th Street. When it opened in 2022 that door was for Ned members and hotel guests. The mezzanine above it was for members alone.1

Why go

Chris Moore, who came off Dante in Greenwich Village, wrote the cocktail list.1 His Rossini puts clarified strawberry under Lillet Rose, rhubarb bitters and rose Prosecco, and the Altar Old Fashioned runs Jefferson's Reserve bourbon into Sauternes, salted maple and chocolate bitters.1 The kitchen does club food properly. There is steak tartare, oysters Rockefeller and shrimp cocktail. Then a grilled truffle cheese sandwich, a lobster roll and a New York strip.1

The room is 1920s on purpose. The booth upholstery is a copy of the old banking hall at the Ned in London. Art Deco pieces bought in Hudson, New York, furnish the mezzanine.1 The Ned NoMad itself is the New York arm of a London hotel and members club that Nick Jones of Soho House co-founded.1

I have not established whether the members-and-guests rule still holds. The Infatuation wrote about the bar in March 2026 without mentioning it. It says in the same breath that it has not been.

Order this / avoid

  • Order: the Altar Old Fashioned, which is the one that shows what Moore was doing here.1
  • Order: the lobster roll if you are eating rather than dining. The list runs to club sandwiches and a burger.1
  • Avoid: the mezzanine unless you are a member. That was the rule when it opened.1

What locals & experts say

  • Chris Moore, to Tori Latham at Robb Report in September 2022, on the brief: We've worked hard on uniting the best elements of a classic hotel bar with the contemporary influences that any truly great food and beverage venue needs in order to add relevance to its location.1
  • The Infatuation, in March 2026, on what the separate door does: This spot has its own entrance right on 28th Street, so it's got the energy of being its own thing even though it's part of The Ned.2

Good to know

  • The door: 10 West 28th Street, around the corner from the hotel's own entrance.2
  • Drinks beyond the cocktails: a few non-alcoholic builds, a small beer list and a wine list of one page.1

Verdict

could-visit — Ring ahead about the door before you plan an evening. The Empire State view belongs to the floor a visitor cannot reach.
