Takashi Gibo is chef-owner of Takashi on Market Street, which he opened with his wife Tamara in May 2004 after cutting sushi at Shogun on Main Street. Three Utah chefs named his room in the Salt Lake Tribune's 2013 chefs-eat feature, more than any other restaurant in it, and Ted Scheffler has called it one of the country's best restaurants. Born in Okinawa, he lived in Peru until he was twelve. His own pick is Del Mar al Lago in South Salt Lake for the chupe de camarones.
