Andytown Coffee Roasters
Andytown bakes its soda farls at this Lawton Street shop every morning and drives them out to nine other counters before opening. The bakery is a Belfast kitchen: farls, wheaten bread, scones and house-made jam. The company calls this its original cafe.
Why go
Founder Michael built the bakery around his own homeland.1 The sausage roll is pork sausage and caramelized onion in puff pastry, and it arrives with HP sauce. The breakfast sando goes together to order on their own bread with a soft egg. The scones come vegan, on a coconut-cream batter, with whatever fruit is in.
Andytown roasts its own coffee four blocks away. The Taraval shop at 40th Avenue holds the roastery, the training lab and the brew gear.2 Recent lots include a Mexican coffee from Rosalba Cifuentes Tovia's Bella Vista women's group in Chiapas.3
