Dumpling Time
Dumpling Time opened at 11 Division Street in the Design District in 2017. It has doors across the Bay Area now. Cooks fold by hand in view of the dining room. Paolo Bicchieri files it away from the traditionalists on Eater's dim sum map.
Why go
Bicchieri also names a second San Francisco door at Thrive City, outside Chase Center. That is the one for a pre-game dinner. Cocktails, local beer, sake and wine sit on a real drinks list here. Hand-cut noodles and vegetable plates run beside the dumplings. The kitchen says it buys locally for the fillings.
