Stewarts Point Store
The historic store on Highway 1, with Twofish Baking working inside it. Wine, beer and a shelf, on a stretch of coast where the next one is a long way off.1
Why go
North of Jenner the coast road runs for miles with nothing on it, and this building is the exception. Twofish moved its bakery inside the store, so one door gets you bread, coffee, a burrito and a market shelf.1 The shelf carries candy, work by local artists, and wine and beer you can take down to a beach.1 The store's own site would not load for me, so everything above comes from the bakery in the same building, and I have nothing sourced on the store's own history.
Good to know
- Twofish Baking has its own listing here, and it is the same front door.1
- Buy the picnic before you drive on. There is not much north of here.
Verdict
listed — The rung is the floor because of what this pass could read, not because of the store. Its own site returns a server error, so the only witness is Twofish Baking, which says its bakery is now inside the historic Stewart's Point Store and describes shelves carrying candy, work by local artists, and wine and beer for a picnic. That is enough to say the building is open and worth a stop on a long empty stretch of Highway 1, and not enough for anything else. Whether the store and the bakery are one business is an open question for the lead.
