Celestial Beerworks
Celestial can have a dozen IPAs on the wall at once, and Brian Reinhart says they are
often showcasing specific hops in double or triple combinations.1
Why go
Molly Reynolds, who taught art, and her husband Matt opened this in the Medical District in 2018.2 Brian Reinhart, in D Magazine's brewery guide: hopheads consider Celestial to be Dallas' best brewery, period.
The tap wall is why, not any one beer.1 That structure is the point: you can drink two beers side by side and taste the hop instead of the brewery.1 Stouts and sours run beside them.1
Order this / avoid
- Order: two IPAs off the wall and compare the hop bills. That is what the wall is for.1
- Order: Double Stars if it is pouring. Hop Culture describes it as a double NEIPA
hopped with Idaho 7 and Vic Secret,
withdank tropical fruitiness and balanced drinkability.
2 - Order: a sour or a stout as the second half of the session. Both are house specialties.1
What locals & experts say
- Brian Reinhart, D Magazine, 2025:
Stouts and sours are another specialty, and a cult following eagerly awaits Celestial's annual ube festival.
1 - Hop Culture, Grace Lee-Weitz, 2025, on what the couple built:
the duo has slowly carved out a name for themselves with their attention to composition across their beers and taproom.
2 - Hop Culture on Double Stars, which it named among the best beers it drank that week in October 2020:
this creamy, hazy IPA impressed us with its dank tropical fruitiness.

Good to know
- The ube release is annual, so it is worth asking when it lands rather than turning up for it.1
Verdict
should-visit — A tap wall built to show you what particular hops do, a dozen IPAs deep, with sours and stouts running alongside it. Ask what is single-hopped and what is a double or triple combination, then drink the two against each other.
