Park Chinois
Dinner is downstairs in Club Chinois until September 2026, with the DJs on until 2am and last entry at midnight.1
Why go
Jacques Garcia designed this Berkeley Street room to look like a 1930s Shanghai supper club, and the house runs live music and entertainment as part of the evening rather than as decoration.12 The kitchen works a very wide card, from dim sum to caviar to imported wagyu, and the one dish that comes up in every edition of Harden's survey feedback is the Duck de Chine.2 The upstairs dining room, Salon de Chine, is shut for a refresh and returns in September 2026, so everything is happening in the basement.1
Order this / avoid
- Order: the Duck de Chine. Harden's diners:
The Duck de Chine is transcendental… but so is the bill.
2 - Avoid: booking for the upstairs room. Salon de Chine is closed until September 2026 and dinner is in Club Chinois.1
- Avoid: Monday. Service runs Tuesday to Sunday from 6pm.1
What locals & experts say
- Harden's survey diners, most recent edition: the room aims,
not unsuccessfully
, to channel thedecadence of 1930s Shanghai
, withlive music and regular entertainment
central to the evening. In past surveys, the gap between the level of value and expense has soured reports, but all feedback was much more positive this year.
2 - Harden's, earlier editions, with the objection intact: it
has a real buzz
withwonderful singers and a band to add to a great night
, but ratings areundercut by the view that it's 'middle-of-the-road Chinese that's well executed but nothing special and soured by the bill'
. One edition recordsthe shows are at least a distraction from what is a pretty lacklustre meal…
2 - The business entered administration in July 2025, which Harden's recorded at the time. It is trading in August 2026.21
Good to know
- Timing: dinner Tuesday to Sunday from 6pm. Club Chinois runs to 2am Tuesday to Saturday and to midnight on Sunday, with last entry at midnight every day.1
- What is open: Club Chinois downstairs. Salon de Chine upstairs returns September 2026.1
- Private dining: two private rooms and one semi-private space.1
- Money: this is a Mayfair supper club and the bill reads like one, which is the single most repeated point in the survey feedback.2
Verdict
could-visit — Behind the red doors on Berkeley Street is a Jacques Garcia room built to look like a 1930s Shanghai supper club, with a band, a DJ and a Chinese kitchen that can put caviar, wagyu and dim sum on the same bill. The dish that survives every edition of survey feedback is the Duck de Chine, which diners call 'transcendental', and the sentence never ends there: 'but so is the bill'. That is the honest summary of the place. Four editions of Harden's record the same argument, that the cooking is well executed and 'nothing special' against the price, and one of them notes the business went into administration in July 2025. Right now only half of it is running, since Salon de Chine is being refreshed until September 2026 and dinner is downstairs in Club Chinois. Go for a late night with a band playing, not for the cooking on its own.
