La Bamba Jarocha
Jeff had a seafood lunch here and what he wrote down afterwards was the cheesy soup. It sits on Avenida 30 in Gonzalo Guerrero, away from the Quinta.
Why go
The name tells you the coast: jarocho means Veracruzan, so this is Gulf cooking rather than Yucatecan, in a Caribbean town. Beyond that and Jeff's own note, nothing published describes the food, so I have no dish to point you at and I am not going to invent one.
Order this / avoid
- Order: the cheesy soup, on Jeff's note and nothing else. He did not write down which one it was, and no source names it.
Good to know
- Where: Avenida 30 Norte at Calle 34 Norte Bis, in Gonzalo Guerrero, which is the residential side rather than the beach side.
- Nobody has checked this door since Jeff pinned it in 2023. Nothing approved covers it and it publishes no site, so ring ahead.
Jeff's take (his words)
- Note (Jeff, on his saved list, 26 November 2023): "Seafood lunch. Cheesy soup!"
Verdict
could-visit — Jeff's own note is the whole file: he had a seafood lunch here and the thing he wrote down afterwards was a cheesy soup. That is real evidence and it is why this is not a bare listing, but it is one line and it names no dish I can send you to order. Nothing approved has written this room up, the venue publishes nothing, and the rest of the search was banned sources. So the honest position is that a cook he trusts less than himself has never weighed in, and I would go for the soup on his word and find out what it is called when I get there.
