Allday Pizza: Hyde Park

The dough is Barton Springs Mill flour, cold-fermented for forty-eight hours, and it goes out as New York slices and eighteen-inch pies.2 The sandwiches on this counter exist only at this branch, on a sesame roll baked in the shop.1

Why go

Allday made its name from a trailer at Daydreamer and a takeout window at Flo's Wine Bar, and this Hyde Park room was the first permanent one.1 In the summer of 2026 the trailer closed so the business could run its two buildings, here and in Tarrytown.2 Matthew Odam left the room off his best-new-of-2025 roster and said why in the same breath, that it is a second location of one of his own favorites rather than a new restaurant.3

Order this / avoid

  • Order the pizza sampler if there is more than one of you. Six different slices arrive on a single tray with a couple of sides. The Pep & Pepp, the Stracciatella and the Vodka Baby are the three McCrary picks out.1
  • Then: the Goo-Mah, mortadella and soppressata with stracciatella on the house sesame roll, which is shatteringly crisp outside and almost weightless inside. It is big enough that a half order is the sane choice alone.1
  • If you want a whole pie: the Sweet Sausage, topped with ricotta cream, mozzarella, crumbled sausage, soppressata, red onion, and Calabrian honey, or the Industry Plant, the vegetable one, with verde sauce, arugula, lemon and Grana Padano.2
  • Start with: the caesar, which carries miso in the dressing and lemon-pepper panko where the croutons would be.1
  • Finish: the gelato soft serve swirled sweet cream and pistachio, with crushed pretzels and salted caramel.1

What locals & experts say

  • Nicolai McCrary rated it 8.6 for The Infatuation on 14 August 2025, under a headline saying Allday sets the bar for New York-style pizza in Austin: The MVP is, unsurprisingly, the pizza, available by the slice or pie. It's thin, crisp, and chewy in all the right ways. On the sandwich, the Goo-Mah gives Home Slice serious competition for the best italian sub in town.1
  • Eater put it on the thirty-eight essential Austin restaurants for summer 2026 and made the value case rather than the quality one: In an era when everyone's charging what seems like too much for a slice, Allday delivers and is worth every penny.2
  • Matthew Odam counts it among his own favorites, in a sentence explaining why it is not on his list: The roster does not include second locations or relocations of some of my favorites, such as Allday Pizza in Hyde Park.3
  • Chronicle readers made Allday a finalist for the city's best pizza in 2026, alongside Bufalina, Pinthouse and Via 313.4
  • CultureMap, which runs the Tastemaker Awards, named Allday its 2026 Neighborhood Restaurant of the Year and wrote that the pies have earned well-deserved buzz as the best pizza in town.5

Good to know

  • Which branch: this page is the Hyde Park shop, in the old post office building it shares with First Light Books and Bureau De Poste.1
  • Drinks: a full bar, house wine at about US$10 a glass, and a Dirty G&T built with vermouth, olive brine and pickle juice.1
  • Hygiene: Austin Public Health scored this kitchen 92 on 13 February 2026, registered as Allday Pizza, on a 100-point scale where 70 is the failing line. It is the only inspection on file, so there is nothing to compare it to.6

Verdict

should-visit — Walk in, order at the counter and eat here, because a sampler tray does not travel. Two people should take the sampler and split a half Goo-Mah, and one person should take two slices and the caesar. McCrary puts the Goo-Mah up against Home Slice's italian sub, so order one and judge it yourself. Skip the other Allday doors if the sandwich is what you came for.
