Oddwood Brewing
Saisons, pale ales and lagers brewed on Manor Road, with the brewery's own bar pizza to soak them up.1
Why go
The beer runs to saisons and lagers rather than the hop-forward beers most of the city's taprooms default to, and McCrary's verdict on all three styles is a single word: excellent.1 The room is wood and low light with an arcade off to one side, and the patio spills into the parking lot.1 Parked on that patio is KG BBQ, a Central Texas smoker working Egyptian and Mediterranean flavors into pomegranate-glazed pork ribs and za'atar lamb chops.2
Order this / avoid
- A saison. It leads the list of what the review calls excellent.1
- The bar pizza, if you are staying put:
Oddwood makes a great bar pizza.
1 - KG BBQ off the patio, weather permitting. The brisket is salt and pepper over oak, then dipped in pomegranate barbecue sauce.2
What locals & experts say
- The Infatuation Austin, Nicolai McCrary, 10 March 2022:
On a quiet corner near Airport and Manor is Oddwood Brewing, a neighborhood brewery making excellent saisons, happy pale ales, and lagers.
1 - The Austin Chronicle ranks it second among the city's breweries. Austin's Best Breweries of 2024, Power Ranked puts Oddwood 2nd of 25 on a score of 95.6, and Ethics & Standards took gold for IPA at the Texas Craft Brewers Cup against 93 statewide entrants.4
Good to know
- Walk-in, and go when the weather allows. The patio and the trailer are half the argument.1
- Hygiene: no finding. Austin Public Health scored the kitchen 90 on 16 July 2025, 93 in January 2025, 92 in February 2024 and 91 in June 2023 (registered as Oddwood Ales, LLC at 3108 Manor Rd). Nothing below 70, nothing below 90.3
Verdict
could-visit — A Manor Road neighborhood brewery whose reviewed program is saisons, pale ales and lagers rather than the hop-forward Austin default, with its own bar pizza and a Central Texas barbecue trailer parked on the patio. One Austin byline has written about the beer, its four inspections have come back clean, and it holds no award standing.
