SíSí Rooftop
The launch coverage promised a 1am close and the venue's own page now says 11pm, so the late-night rooftop that coverage sold Glasgow in July 2025 is a two-hour shorter proposition today (venue).
Why go
It sits on the eighth floor of The Social Hub in Candleriggs Square and opened on 1 August 2025 with 160 covers, 100 of them inside and 60 on an open terrace looking south to the Cathkin Braes (DRAM). The ceiling is a hand-painted mural by the Glasgow illustrator and tattooist Pelikan Baba, which is the one piece of the room that could not have been dropped into any other city. The kitchen runs Mexican-American sharing plates and the launch card led with hand-dived scallop ceviche verde and a steak tartare tostada, both of which are raw-protein dishes that live or die on sourcing (The Social Hub). A year in, no coverage has named a chef.
Order this / avoid
- Order: the scallop ceviche verde, since a hand-dived scallop served raw is the dish that tells you whether the sourcing claim is real. At the bar, the green bloody maria, which is the house rebuild of the format rather than the standard tomato version.
- Avoid: planning a late one off the search results. Every piece written about this place says 12pm to 1am; the venue currently publishes 10am to 11pm5.
What locals & experts say
- Darren Blackburn, opening manager, via DRAM Scotland (3 July 2025):
We've designed SíSí to feel effortless and inclusive, whether you're popping in for a leisurely lunch, cocktails at sunset or making a night of it. It's a place to relax, celebrate, and connect with people while enjoying incredible food and drinks in good company. If you're looking for a party with a view, this is it.
2 - Foodie Explorers, Emma Mykytyn (25 July 2025): covered it as a first look ahead of the 1 August opening, confirming the terrace-and-indoor split and a mezcal-led bar. The piece previews rather than judges, and says so.3
- The venue on itself:
bold cocktails, shareable small plates, skyline sundowners and late-night DJs, all in one laid-back, high-up hangout.
5 - Coverage gap, stated plainly: a year after opening, no critic in the approved registry has reviewed the food and nobody has named a chef. GlasgowWorld ran a first-person visit under the headline "I visited Glasgow's newest rooftop restaurant and bar in the city center, here's what I found out," and that page returns a 403, so nothing from it is used here.
- Food hygiene, checked: Pass, inspected 10 November 2025.6
- Local rec: Jeff's save. He left no note on it.
Good to know
- Timing: all day from mid-morning, with DJs later. The published close is 11pm.
- Booking: through the venue's site, and worth it for a terrace seat in summer.
- Getting up there: eighth floor of The Social Hub, entrance on Candleriggs Square, a two-minute walk from the Trongate.
- Weather: 60 of the 160 seats are outdoors, so a terrace booking in Glasgow is a gamble the entry is not going to talk you out of.
- Elsewhere: the group runs a second SíSí in Barcelona and calls the Glasgow room the original. That claim is the group's own and is not corroborated.
Verdict
could-visit — An eighth-floor room in Candleriggs Square with 160 covers, 60 of them on an open terrace looking south to the Cathkin Braes, running Mexican-American sharing plates and a mezcal-led bar with DJs at night. The launch card named hand-dived scallop ceviche verde and a steak tartare tostada, which is more ambition than a hotel rooftop usually shows. It stops at could-visit because a year after opening no chef has been named, no critic has assessed the kitchen, and not one dish or drink is priced in public, so the only thing anyone can vouch for is the view and the terrace.
