Bar Us
Sudarat "Taln" Rojanavanich and Veerach "Aum" Sawaengsupt were interior designers who taught themselves cocktails on night shifts at their own backpacker hostel; they opened Bar Us on Sukhumvit 26 in 2023, and Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025 named it The Best Bar in Thailand, No. 4 in Asia and No. 15 in the world.
Why go
The menu is built like a kitchen's: starters, mains, afters, and an all-night section of reworked classics, with the mains described by the World's 50 Best as "bolder, food-inspired cocktails that are savoury, layered." Ingredients come from local farms, guava leaf and green chili and makrut lime among them, and the list rotates every few months on techniques running from distillation and fermentation to fat-brining. The founders' outsider path shows in the room as much as the glass, "an almost all-black interior, theatrical spotlights" and staff in white lab coats (Asia's 50 Best); Rojanavanich puts it plainly: "Bar Us wouldn't have existed in Bangkok 10 years ago. Bars were more classic, hotel-style."

The all-night section covers anyone in the group who wants a straight classic. - Avoid: counting on a mid-evening reservation. The venue's own booking page is explicit: "We only have 6pm and 8pm time slot available for booking," the bar takes walk-ins at all times after that, and held seats release after 10 minutes.

The pair ran the Heyyyy Bangkok hostel from 2016 and opened Messenger Service in 2020 before Bar Us.7
Good to know
- Booking: 6pm or 8pm slots only, via us-bar.com; after that it runs on walk-ins, so a 9:15pm arrival is a queue gamble on busy nights, not a guarantee. Dress is casual.
- Timing: evenings daily; closing hour is not published, check Instagram for late plans.
- Getting there: Soi Sukhumvit 26, a short ride from BTS Phrom Phong, on the way between Thonglor and the Silom side of town.

Verdict
must-visit — The Best Bar in Thailand 2025, No. 4 in Asia and No. 15 in the world within two years of opening, for a format you cannot get elsewhere in Bangkok: a coursed, savory-leaning tasting menu in glasses, built by two designers who came from outside the industry and rethought the room from scratch. The award, the craft, and the format carry the rung; the 6/8pm booking rule makes it easy to plan around.
