Nuss Bar
Chef Thitid "Ton" Tassanakajohn named this bar over Nusara for the same person as the restaurant, his late grandmother "Nuss," and staffed the stick through a partnership with Ronnaporn "Neung" Kanivichaporn, the Find the Locker Room and Mahaniyom co-founder Time Out credits as a two-time Diageo World Class Thailand winner. The glass wall faces Wat Pho.
Why go
The program is a map of small Thai distilleries: a Lychee Gimlet built on Mork Mung Muang lychee spirit distilled in Mae Hong Son, a white Negroni running Sakthong corn spirit against housemade coffee liqueur, per The Drinks Business (2025). Four seasonal signatures rotate every three months, with Thai-twisted classics beneath them. It opened May 2023 as the drinking floor of the Nusara building in Tha Tien, so the pre-dinner or post-tasting-menu logistics solve themselves.
Order this / avoid
- Order: whatever the current quarter's Thai-spirit signatures are, then the Pomelo Paloma, which
infuses coriander leaves, dry vermouth and local grapefruit juice
per 50 Best Discovery; classics from B390 (Time Out). - Avoid: treating the menu as fixed. The signature list turns over quarterly, so the named drinks above are one quarter's documented pours, and the method is what carries over.
What locals & experts say
- Time Out Bangkok (2023):
Nuss has one of the most spectacular views in old town Bangkok,
wherelarge glass windows allow tipplers to admire Wat Pho while sipping craft cocktails.
1 - 50 Best Discovery:
Drenched in electric cranberry-red and gold tones, decorated with an animated mix of lush velvet seats, glittering lamps and colourful floor tiles, Nuss Bar is a lively drinking destination.

Good to know
- Timing: Wednesday to Monday, 5pm to midnight; dusk gets the lit-up Wat Pho.
- Booking: no platform found; message @nussbarbkk on Instagram, and pair it with a Nusara booking if you can get one.
- Getting there: Maha Rat Road in Tha Tien, a short walk from MRT Sanam Chai and the Tha Tien pier.
Verdict
should-visit — Chef Ton put a cocktail room above Nusara with Ronnaporn 'Neung' Kanivichaporn, and the program does for Thai craft spirits what the restaurant does for grandmother recipes: a gimlet on Mae Hong Son lychee spirit, a white Negroni on Sakthong corn, rotated quarterly, behind glass that frames Wat Pho at night. Old-town view plus that pedigree plus a spirits thesis no hotel bar runs earns the detour; the missing critical record and any ranking keep it short of must.
