Flight Club
The Glasgow room had counted more than 3 million arrows thrown by the middle of January 2024, a few months after it opened in a former tax hall off George Square.
Why go
Fifteen oches sit under carnival decor, each wired for automatic scoring across seven multiplayer game formats with instant video replays. Groups run from two people up to 36 and beyond, and a private mezzanine takes the corporate end of that. Manager Paul Stopper told The List in February 2024 that "the focus used to be on drinking, but for a lot of people now the experience is more important," which is the operating theory of the whole format. Pizza and sharing plates come to the board while you play, so nobody leaves the game to eat. Darts starts at £10 a head. The machine does the arithmetic, so you need no prior skill.
Order this / avoid
- Order: an oche for the group first, then whatever pizza keeps arriving. The bottomless brunch pairs it with prosecco and beer. The bar in the center of the floor is the one The List describes as
a fully fledged and handsome cocktail bar.
1 - Avoid: turning up on a weekend night without a booking. The oches are the product and they sell out at peak.
What locals & experts say
- The List (February 2024): David Kirkwood's verdict on the venue,
Flight Club is a well-oiled, UK-wide operation,
in a room he describes as havingquirky nooks and crannies behind big, beautiful spaces.
1 - Paul Stopper, general manager, in The List (2024):
Drinking culture has changed.
He also said,One of my favourite things to do is watch first-time customers' faces as they walk in and see the place.
1 - SLTN (July 2025): listed among the Glasgow bars taking part in Glasgow Cocktail Week 2025.3
- Local rec: Jeff's save. He credits it with an industry award in early 2024, and no awards body or trade title publishes a Glasgow win to match it.
Good to know
- Timing: open from 11:30am daily, to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 1am on Friday and Saturday.
- Booking: the door takes walk-ins, but book the oche ahead for any group or any weekend. Oches are priced by the head, from £10.
- Getting there: 32 North Frederick Street, a short walk from Queen Street Station and the George Square corner.
- Hygiene: FSA/FHIS Pass, inspected 30 July 2024.
Craft signals (the oche is the product)
The drink here is a chain list serving a game. CAMRA carries no cask for the address, the venue publishes cocktail pitchers and packages rather than a rotating list, and nothing in the trade press records a menu launch or a guest programme at the Glasgow site. Static is the accurate label and it is not the criticism: you book a board, and the drinks exist to be carried to it.
Jeff's take (his words)
- Note: "Won an industry award in early 2024"
Verdict
could-visit — Book it if you have a group and a night to fill. Fifteen automatically scored oches, a cocktail bar in the middle of the floor and pizza delivered to the board make it the most competent version of the activity-bar format in Glasgow, and The List's David Kirkwood read it as a well-oiled UK-wide operation, which is a compliment about execution rather than about cooking. The building, an old tax hall off George Square, is the only site-specific thing about it. The food is a chain menu, so it stays at could-visit.
