Austin Beerworks - Sprinkle Valley
Close to two dozen house-brewed beers, plus wine and cider from local producers, poured across 64 acres in Northeast Austin.3
Why go
This is the second Austin Beerworks site and it is not a second taproom. The Sprinkle Valley plot runs to 64 acres, which makes the original roughly 63 acres smaller, and most of the difference is outdoors.3 Inside, long rows of tables, board games and a small disc golf store; outside, a shaded patio with an uncountable number of picnic tables and the Yellow Bell Tacos truck selling smoked meat tacos.3 Nicolai McCrary's line for The Infatuation is the practical verdict: When the weather is nice, this is the type of place you'll want to spend an entire afternoon.

Order this / avoid
- Pearl Snap, the mainstay the Austin Chronicle says it drinks by the kiloliter, or Acoustic Metal, the Czech-style dark lager it named its favorite rotational beer of 2024. These are the brewery's beers across both taprooms, and the board at this door is the shorter of the two.1
- Super Awesome, the helles, a two-time GABF medalist, and Black Thunder, the schwarzbier, which has medaled at both the GABF and the World Beer Cup.2
- Sputnik, the oatmeal coffee stout, if you time the annual release. The Austin Beer Guide named it Best Limited/Special Beer of 2014.2
- Or not beer: wine and cider, both from local producers.3
- Eat: smoked meat tacos from the Yellow Bell Tacos truck on the patio.3
- Avoid: treating it like the original. This is a long-afternoon site, and the Chronicle sends drinkers to ABW1 for the fuller board.1
What locals & experts say
- The Austin Chronicle's brewery power rankings, Eric Puga, 17 October 2024, ranked Austin Beerworks 12th in Austin on a score of 87.6 across both taprooms, and delivered the only published verdict on this room specifically:
Sprinkleworks doesn't quite spark the same warm vibez and beer board options as ABW1, but knowing the tenacity of ABW as a brand, we know a spectacular vision is in the mail.
He calls the originalsimply one of the highlights of the Austin beer experience
.1 - The 2023 edition, 10 October 2023, had the brand sixth on 91 and described this site while it was new, at
the foothills of the Austin Community Landfill off Springdale Road
, concluding thatlike their O.G. cargo bay taproom, this one also kicks a weird amount of ass
. It also credits the 64-acre spread with a playground, a fenced dog run andthe world's first brewery cry room
.2 - Nicolai McCrary, The Infatuation Austin, page dated 5 March 2024:
When the weather is nice, this is the type of place you'll want to spend an entire afternoon.
That desk attaches no number to breweries by its own stated policy, so the score to read is the Chronicle's.3 - The medal shelf is the brand's, across both taprooms: bronze for Flavor Country and silver for Killer Strains Golden Sour Ale at the 2024 Texas Craft Brewers Cup, silver for Golden Sour at the 2023 World Beer Cup, and co-owner Adam DeBower named 2024 Ambassador of Craft Beer by the Texas Craft Brewers Association.12
Good to know
- Which door: 10300 Springdale Rd in Northeast Austin. The Industrial Terrace original is a separate row and a separate premises.3
- Hygiene: Austin Public Health scores the kitchen 100, inspected 25 August 2025, with 98 in September 2024 and 99 in April 2024 behind it. Austin runs a 100-point demerit scale where higher is better and 70 is the failing line, so a 100 is a clean sheet and there is no finding. The score covers the taproom; the tacos come from a mobile vendor the register does not cover.4
Verdict
could-visit — Close to two dozen house-brewed beers plus local wine and cider, poured across 64 acres in Northeast Austin with a shaded patio, board games, a small disc golf store, a playground, a fenced dog run and the Yellow Bell Tacos truck doing smoked meat tacos. Drink Pearl Snap, or Acoustic Metal, the Czech-style dark lager the Austin Chronicle named its favorite rotational beer of 2024. The brewery ranks 12th in Austin on a score of 87.6 and carries a 2024 Texas Craft Brewers Cup bronze and silver, but that is the brand across both taprooms, and the Chronicle's verdict on this room in particular is that it does not spark the same warmth or beer board as the original on Industrial Terrace. Come for a whole afternoon or go to ABW1. Austin Public Health scored the taproom 100 in August 2025.
